Guidance Beyond the Classroom
Our mentorship program provides students with academic, personal, and professional support as they transition into college life.
Help students advocate for themselves (e.g., requesting letters of recommendation, seeking academic support).
Support personal and professional development (e.g., joining service organizations, finding volunteer opportunities).
Encourage goal-setting, school-life balance, and time management skills.
Teach the importance of self-reflection and continuous improvement.
Mentorship Duration: July - May (School Year)
Mentoring Model: One-to-One Sessions & Occasional Group Sessions
Summer (Goal-Setting Meeting) → Discuss expectations and academic goals for the school year.
August (College Transition & Support) → School-life balance, joining organizations, study habits, priorities.
December (End of Semester 1 Reflection) → Evaluate progress and set new goals for next semester.
Mid-January (Semester 2 Check-In) → Accountability check and review academic needs.
May (End of Year Reflection & Renewal Process) → Evaluate progress, submit scholarship renewal packet/portfolio
