Founded by the Lyles and Swanson families, our foundation is rooted in a passion for education and a belief in the transformative power of mentorship. We aim to continue our legacy of empowering future leaders.
Established the Lyles Swanson Empower Merit Scholarship & Mentoring Program, Inc., dedicated to supporting Black scholars in their higher education journey.
On May 21, 2024 we awarded our first eight scholarships, marking the beginning of our mission to empower students academically and financially.
Launched our quarterly newsletter to keep our community informed and engaged.
Held our first mentor-mentee meetings, fostering meaningful connections and guidance for our scholars.
Recognized two outstanding scholars with an additional $500 award for their academic achievements and leadership.
Relaunched the McCormick Scholarship for its second annual cycle, continuing our commitment to supporting McCormick High School seniors.
